Remember CMPD wants us calling in all suspicious people and vehicles. Don't hesitate to dial 911. 911 will ask if you want the officer to stop by your house or contact you. You can say NO if you don't want them coming to your home, and you are just reporting suspicious activity.
Lt. Gwaltney just asked me last night to please remind all our community to call 911 to report suspicious activity immediately.
I have no doubt the 3 outside my home would of attempted to break in last night had a neighbor not called to tell me they were outside of my home obviously up to something no good. The banging on the door and ringing the door bell is only to ensure no one is inside before breaking in. In my case I turned on a inside hall light and they immediately ran away on foot.
All wearing dark hoodies pulled up over their heads, with long sleeves and dark pants. Neighbor said they had small white stripe down the sleeves. Weather was certainly not such that you needed sleeves or hoods up last night.
Just remember we have many more eyes than CMPD in our community, and we have to look out for each other and help CMPD patrol our community. A neighbor being observant last night putting out her trash can picked up on these 3.
Lt. Gwaltney suggest installing motion dector lights around your property.
