Jared Hunt has moved out of the neighborhood...correct?

I am not sure.   I have not spoken with him in a few months.  I know last time someone brought this up he responded to them with what he had done and his contacts.    Montclaire Neighborhood Association contacted the HOA earlier in the summer as they were going to attempt a reassignment.   Jarrett Hunt really did spend a lot of time working on the issue.  He even had a Madison Park School facebook page set up.   It was back when our High School got reassigned to Harding.  There were about 30 neighbors form Madison Park that showed up at the meeting that night down at South Meck, but everything got lost in the turmoil over the sudden change to put E. E. Waddel students at Harding.    Smith Language of course moved to that campus.   Jarrett did continue to work on the issue until he stepped off the board after his first term.

Hopefully one day in the not to distant future a reassignment can happen.  It really is important if you have children, but also important if you don't.   It would really increase our property values to get reassigned to Myers Park, or even South Meck for high school.

Keith Hurley was someone during that period that was running for school board.  He did not get elected but truely thought we should be reassigned, and he did not even live in Madison Park.   He attended our monthly HOA meetings, and even worked to try and push the issue after not getting elected to the school board.  So he really tried to help.

Try and connect with Valerie and maybe  you can help make it happen.

This might be of interest to our Madison Park families South of Tyvola that are assigned Montclaire Elementary.

Subject: CALL TO ACTION! School Board Meeting Tomorrow 5:45 PM Save Starmount Elementary School!
To:

THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION NEIGHBORS OF STARMOUNT! We have been informed that CMS has scheduled (very under the radar) another community feedback session for Starmount tomorrow night (10/16) at Starmount Elementary(1600 BROOKDALE AVE CHARLOTTE, NC 28210) 5:45-7pm. Our Vice President attended the School board meeting last night and they are proposing to split our neighborhood into three parts and have our children attend three different schools. This is UNACCEPTABLE! We asked for a neighborhood school and that's what we are expecting to receive. Despite our efforts to work with Montclaire and Huntingtowne Farms neighborhoods it appears that the School board is giving Starmount the short end of the stick. Please attend the meeting to help bring a change to their proposal before its finalized in November!
