Happy Pride To Our LGBT Madison Park Residents

Posted in: Madison Park

Sounds like Charlotte Pride this Sunday is going to be a huge day for everyone in Charlotte.   I know last years parade was great, and this year it is going to be even larger.

I know I always like to see which city / county leaders take part, and which ones do not.  It helps me decide who gets my vote come election day,

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Hundreds of workers and volunteers spent much of their Saturday morning preparing for Charlotte's Pride festival and Sunday's Pride Parade.

From sponsors like Wells Fargo and Time Warner Cable, to the more than 100 vendors that will sell and entertain at the event, Charlotte Pride is growing.

"Last year we had more than 80,000 people," said Matt Comer Communications Director of Charlotte' Pride. "We expect more this year."

The festival is free and open to the public with activities for the entire family, including the additions of the Discovery Zone for kids this year.

The Pride Festival will run from noon Saturday to 11 p.m. and until 6 p.m. Sunday.

Sunday afternoon, thousands will line the streets of Uptown for what is one of the most colorful sights in the city. The Charlotte Pride Parade culminates with a free concert from Leeann Rimes.
