We have been contacted once again through the hotmail regarding dogs off leash in Madison Central Park.
Residents state they had to run out of the park, because of a doberman off leash.
Remember that dogs are required to be on leash in Charlotte. Madison Central Park is in Charlotte.
Madison Central Park is not a dog park. However you can bring your dog, just keep it own a leash.
Also remember to clean up after your pets. Bring your own supplies. The HOA tried keeping the dispenser filled, but we actually had residents taking hands filled with bags out of the dispensers. We were paying $44 a case of the proper bags for the dispenser and they were not lasting. The bags as was stated in the beginning were there for emergency clean ups when you forgot to bring your own bag.
As to our trash can we need volunteers to help keep it empty. See minutes for current needs. If residents don't step up to help the can will have to go away. CMS does not help with the can, nor do they buy the bags for the can. The HOA does both.
Since most of our residents choose to not pay their 20 dollar annual dues we had to stop supplying the poop bags. We could not afford to be the free bag dispenser for multiple residents to take home with them.
When you see dogs off leash ask the owner to put it on a leash. If you have problems with dogs snap a picture of owner and dog and call 311 ANIMAL Control. They are the only ones that can enforce the city code on pets off leash. The HOA as no rules of it's own. We go by only what is on the City Books. We also don't do any enforcement ourselves. We expect our residents to respect each other and follow the rules. If that is not happening call 311 and let the appropriate department deal with it.
Also remember that we do TWO Park Clean up days each year. Spring and Fall
Watch for the fall clean up to be advertised soon. We need our neighbors to come help clean the park. We also need you to show up for Adopt A Street Clean ups. These are all great things we do to improve our neighborhood, but it takes more than just board members doing it each time. A few of you are great about always showing up. We need more like you.
We do not own the land. CMS is supposed to maintain the property. Since we are getting complaints that is obviously not happening. So help s keep the park looking its best.
