Solid Waste Services will provide Curb it! collection services - garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulky waste - according to the normal collection schedule on Monday, September 1.
Residents are reminded of the following tips to ensure collection:
- Bag all garbage before placing it in the garbage rollout cart. Do not overfill the cart.
- Remove food/liquid residue and lids from all recyclable containers before placing them in the recycling cart. Do not bag recyclables.
- Place collection materials curbside by 6:30 am on day of collection. Rollout carts must be removed from curbside by midnight the same day.
- Place collection items within six feet of the curb. Please do not block the sidewalk.

Aluminum is an acceptable recyclable item for collection in the Recycle it! curbside collection program. Acceptable aluminum items range from aluminum cans to foil to trays.
The best tip for recycling aluminum is to ensure all liquid/food residue is removed. Though it's not required by the City to crush your aluminum item, crushing your item does allow for more room in your cart, which you'll be able to recycle even more items!
There are many products made from recycled aluminum. Products such as foil, cans, bicycles, auto parts, airplane parts, jewlery and house siding. The list goes on and on.
