Including Tyvola Road Senior Center. The Mecklenburg County Commissioners voted to include the Senior Centers in the Park and Recreation budget for 2014 - 2015.
This means the Senior Centers are now going to be part of Park and Recreation.
There will be staff from P&R working in the centers, hours will probably eventually expand, and the facilities will most likely be used for other P&R needs during non Senior use hours.
Also Thanks to all of our Residents that helped the Centers raise over 68K of the 50K needed by supporting all the fundraisers and projects the centers did over the past several months. You did this through their bake sales, donations, and all the other many activities the seniors did to help keep their programs running this year.
