I know it is tempting while taking a stroll in nature to let your dog run free in the woods behind Marion Diehll.. But please consider this...Number 1 it is against the law to let your dog run free on city property unless other wise stated. Number 2 it's not fair for those of us who live along the wood line who have to constantly worry about one of our pets being attacked by your pet because YOU didn't take the time to put your dog on a leash. I have had to knock out a window so my cats can hope to make it into the house before your pet can get them.Trust me I have had 1 that didn't make it. I am tired of having to tell people to "put your dog on a leash" when your at my backyard. You know who you are. Could someone please tell me why signs are not posted to the public that indeed they are to have their pet on leashes? Is there anyway to in force this.? Like I said I feel I speak for A  LOT of us. It's not right or fair to us to have this problem.Especially when it is so easy to solve. Please do the right thing and keep your dog on a leash. It's just the right thing to do. And it's also against the law not to.Thanks

I Understand Your concern.  We have the same issue in Madison Central Park, and we do have signs posted.   People do what they wish.

You might contact Parks and Recreation and make a request for signs.   Tell them your specific issue.   With the Greenway coming in the next few years I am afraid your problem will increase.

Animal Control is the only thing you can really do that might work.   If there is a certain time or day that it happens more often,  maybe you can get them to come out and watch for it.   You might also try taking some pictures, and showing animal control if it continues.

Sorry about your pets.   I have the same issue walking my animals sometime on leashes.  Dogs will run out and start problems with my animals.
