Program Solid Waste Services is excited to announce an update to the Recycle it! program – Residents can now recycle their restaurant pizza boxes. Previously, pizza boxes weren’t accepted due to contamination caused by grease and cheese residue. With changes to the preparation and packaging methods pizza boxes have less food contamination than they have in the past. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mayor Cannon Proclaims April 7-11 as Recycle it! Week Mayor Patrick Cannon has proclaimed April 7-11 as Recycle it! Week. Solid Waste Services has events scheduled daily promoting recycling education and highlighting it's continued effort for a greener, cleaner Charlotte. Mobile App -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Did You Know Solid Waste Offers Dead Animal Collection? Solid Waste Services will collect dead animals from streets, public rights-of-way and residences located within the City. Service does not include interstate highways/ramps or public parks. Dead animals (wild or domesticated) on private property must be scheduled for collection and placed at curbside.
