As we mentioned in the fall in our meeting minutes, I had been working with Laura K Handler the Math Facilitator at Pinewood Elementary on a Special Grant Opportunity for the school and neighborhood.
We just found out our Application / Request has been approved for this 1 day retreat that will take place in the spring of 2014. See attached letter of approval for all the details.
We will be looking for around 45 people made up from a cross of school staff, parents - PTA, hoa board, residents of Madison Park, and business supporters to take part in this retreat.
We will be awarded 8K that will go toward a special community/school project grant upon completion of the retreat.
Our board did a retreat summer of 2012 and was award $2000 for that work. It was a fun day. That money went toward the CMPD requested auto/cling decal program.
This will be even better with so many people involved from the community and partners. We can do something really great at the school for the neighborhood and the school.
