Giive A Gift to Senior Centers Of Charlottte-Mecklenburg

Posted in: Madison Park

Please consider giving a gift to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Senior Centers.   They must reach a $50K goal by the end of the month, or will be faced with cutting back services.  Many of our Madison Park / Montclaire / Starmount & Selwyn Park seniors use the Tyvola Road Senior Center.   Tyvola Road Seniors have been busy for months doing fundraisers, bake sales, etc.and have added 6K to the needed 50k..

Wedgewood Farmers Market customers purchased $300 in bake goods a few weeks ago at the first bake sale.   Look for another one in the spring.

Consider giving a tax deductible gift to the Senior Centers of Mecklenburg County by the end of the year.  Senior Centers of Charlotte-Mecklenburg county are a non profit, and not part of Parks and Recreation of Mecklenburg County.

See the flier on our home page.  You can make a donation on-line.   Print a flier and give to your Church asking them to help.  If you work for a company that might want to help this Non Profit please asked them for help.   The total shortage in funding is much more than 50K.  50K is what is needed to keep from having to cut activities.

Tyvola Road Senior Center has a damaged front entrance floor that needs repairing, and a roof that needs replacing very soon.  This 50K is going to just keep activities going, and not for those repairs.

There are 4 facilities in Mecklenburg County that are impacted this year by funding cut backs.

Money given to Tyvola Road Senior Center stays at that location.

If you are a Senior and never checked the Center out go take a look.  There is a huge list of activities that take place weekly for seniors at the Tyvola Senior Center.  Please help keep it fully funded by giving something to fill the gap.   .

You can also stop by the center if you like and see how many people are using it.  Drop off a check on the spot to the Director.

Selwyn Park stepped up and is collecting donations for the Senior Center at their Holiday Party.

You can drop off a tax deductible donation to the Tyvola Road Center, Mail one, or make a donation online.  See the flyer on our web site.

They need 50K this month to keep operating all their programs for the seniors, many from our community and neighboring communities.

Step up and make a donation.   As one Selywn Park senior said, that has wreaths for sale at the center.  Keep the seniors off the streets!

It is a great place for seniors with lots of fun activities.

They also have a front entrance that needs repaired.  Maybe a contractor could step up and take care of that need at the Tyvola Road Senior Center, or you could get your church to make a donation.   That entrance has been taped off for months.
