Pumpkin Patch Party Offers Fun for the Entire Family at Romare Bearden Park
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation will host a Pumpkin Patch Party at Romare Bearden Park on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival is FREE to attend. ??‹
Festivities include:
- A musical performance by The Roustabouts (Small Oval, noon to 4 p.m.)
- Crafts and activities for the entire family
- Face painting
- And pumpkin carving
Pumpkin Pooch Parade - noon
Bring your pooch dressed in his or her favorite Halloween costume for the chance to win a great prize!. Guests can enter up to two dogs in the contest. Registration begins at 11 :30 a.m., at the corner of Mint and Third streets. All dogs must be on a leash and current on all vaccinations. For more information, visit the Romare Bearden Park Web page.

McDowell Nature Center Hosts Nature at Night Festival Oct. 18
Bring your friends and family and enjoy nature hikes, hayrides, games and campfire hot dogs ($1 each). The festival will also include Ramona Moore, an internationally renowned speaker and storyteller as well as an oral historian and Legend Keeper from the Tuscarora Nation of North Carolina. The first 100 guests will receive a FREE gift!
