A good friend recently passed away; she has two Siamese mix kitties that we are trying to re-home to a good, safe, quiet environment.

Pictures can be found HERE

Vernon is a 7 y/o male, neutered flame point- almost white, blue eyes, and orange tinges on his ears, paws and tail. Lucy is a 5 y/o spayed female snowshoe – dark brown back, fading to a lighter brown, and white on her paws and face.  Both of them are beautiful cats; litter box trained, and excellent housecats.

Vernon is very friendly, loves to play, loves people – but he is on and will continue to need weight control management. Playing with him helps control his weight and he enjoys it.

Lucy is currently very skittish - she was not well-socialized, but is a very gentle, and she will adapt with time and patience, as she gets adjusted to her new people and a new home. (We have two of her littermates and they are wonderful cats - great personalities, very loving, and just as beautiful). She would allow her owner to pet her and she would sleep on the bed with her and lay next to her on the sofa, so she just needs time to adapt to a new parent.  We have been working with Lucy for the past several weeks – when we first started caring for her, she would hide and hiss at us if we tried to approach her. After just a couple of weeks, we are now able to pet her, give her treats and she purrs. She is now moving closer to us, voluntarily, for treats, although she still hides under the furniture. She no longer runs away when approached (in her comfort areas), so we are confident that she will continue to come around.

Both Vernon and Lucy have their claws; they have been indoor/outdoor (mostly indoor) cats, and if allowed outside, would need a fenced, protected area.  However, they have not been outside much in the past several months, so they could easily adapt to full-time indoor kitties although Vernon really enjoys spending time on the deck.  They do not claw at furniture or rugs.  We are able to watch and care for these cats for the near term, but need to find them a forever home (we cannot adopt them due to allergies – our two are our limit - we would take them if we could).

We will carefully screen any potential adopting families (we are working with a resource who specializes in placing cats), as we want to ensure they go to a safe environment where they will be a good fit for both the new family, and the cat(s) – these kitties have been through enough in the past 3 months after losing their owner. They would be best in a home with a single person, or couple with no children, and no other animals as they are accustomed to a quiet environment.

Any help or assistance you could provide in helping us find them a new home would be very much appreciated.  Their owner passed unexpectedly after a sudden illness - we have been caring for these kitties since early July during her illness. Ideally, we would like to keep them together, but if that is not possible, then that's the reality of it. Please contact me at 704-957-4818 if you would consider adopting one (or hopefully, both of these beautiful cats.)
