The Pizza Box Mystery

Pizza Box

Many assume that restaurant pizza boxes are recyclable. In fact, most boxes have recycling symbols on them and are traditionally made from cardboard. However, what makes them non-recyclable is the grease and cheese from pizza that soil the cardboard.

To properly dispose of pizza boxes, please place them in the garbage cart and not in the recycling cart for collection.

Click here for more information on what items can and can't be recycled in the Recycle It! program.
