Someone tried to steal a red jeep at Valley Stream and Seneca Place. The door was left unlocked and the owner found that they had tried to pop the ignition, but apparently couldn't get it out, or were interrupted and left. If you saw anything let the police know. They will be making a police report.
Remember to park in a well lit spot, and lock your doors. Don't leave valuables in the car. Even coins sometimes temp someone to break a window. If you see anyone around cars or homes that don't belong, or they look out of place call 911 so they can check them out.
This happened toward Park Road outside of our border, but nearby.
