I have had 3 people in recent weeks tell me stories of tree trimming offers that were too good to be true.   In all 3 cases they were lead to believe the trees debris would be removed as it should be by professional trimmers.   City does not pick up commercial cut waste as a rule.

One lady told me she thought they were going to put it all on their truck like she was told, and gave them her check.  They literally left a huge pile in the street and drove off.   (I helped her sort and get it in small piles so it would be picked up on the eve of trash day).

Today, I had a call from another Madison Park resident.   She told me she had a big mess.  She said she paid more than 1700 dollars to a company to take a couple of small trees down yesterday.  She was also under the impression they were taking the waste.   Her neighbor could not use the sidewalk today and told her she would get a ticket.   She called to alert me of the problem, and said she was trying to get it cleared and removed hopefully today.   I told her I would alert codes to what happen, and that she was making every effort to take care of it.

Last year I heard of a crew that knocked down power lines and drove off leaving the mess in one of our neighbors yards working on a tree.    The residents low cost tree work ended up costing a lot more than they bargained for that day.

I would suggest you get any work in writing.  Take a few minutes and check them out with the BBB and make sure they are insured.  Always be aware of someone knocking on your door offering to do work.
