Can't make it to vote on Election Day in person?  vote absentee from home.  Request a balot from the BOE today.

Absentee Voting

Absentee voting is comprised of two methods by which registered voters may cast ballots other than the traditional method of appearing in person and casting a ballot on the day of the election. These methods are absentee by mail and absentee one-stop.

Absentee by Mail

Any voter registered in Mecklenburg County can request an absentee ballot from the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections prior to the last Tuesday before the election.   An application and ballots will be mailed to the voter after the receipt of the written request.  Click here for more information.

Absentee One-Stop (Early Voting)

Any voter registered in Mecklenburg County may choose to vote in person using One-Stop Absentee Voting which begins the third Thursday before the election and ends the Saturday prior to the election. Dates, times, and locations vary by election and will be posted prior to each election on this site and in the newspaper. Click here for details.

You can vote at the Hal Marshall Annex, 618 N. College Street (first floor) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Sept. 6.

Early voting starts at the Morrison and South County Regional libraries on Tuesday, Sept 3. The only Saturday voting opportunity during this period is September 7th.

Early voting is the perfect opportunity for voters that have trouble making it to their assigned voting sites on Election Day.   You can vote at any early voting site.  On election day you vote at your assigned location based on where you live, in order to be able to vote on the machines.   On Sept. 10 the polls are open from 6:30 am until 7:30 pm.

If you are not sure where you vote check with the Board Of Elections web site.

Most of Madison Park votes either Pinewood Elementary or Wedgewood Church.   Montclaire residents vote either Wedgewood Church or Montclaire Elementary.   This all depends on your address.  In general Seneca Place splits where you go in Madison Park and Wensley splits your assigned location in Monclaire.
