Pinewood Elementary celebrates gardens, wellness

Pinewood Elementary School in south Charlotte encouraged healthy and active lifestyles with its second annual Garden Wellness Day.
Parents, children, staff and volunteers gathered from 9 a.m.-noon on June 1 to celebrate fitness, gardening and nutrition.
The events began adjacent to the school with exercises at Madison Central Park. Participants learned bicycle safety and took part in soccer and Frisbee golf.
