City Cracks down on roll-out bin placement

The updated section of the Rollout Container Collection Service ordinance, as approved by Charlotte City Council in April: “Rollout containers will be collected from the curb. Containers must be placed at ground level, within six feet of the curb, but not in or on a roadway, and at least three feet away from each other or other obstacles such as mailboxes, telephone poles, automobiles, bulky items, etc., or in a location specified by the solid waste services director or the director’s designee. Motivated in part by the bicycle traffic death of a Myers Park student last year, Charlotte City Council updated an ordinance recently that stipulates where residents can put roll-out bins.
