Additional BigBelly waste containers are being installed in Southend as a way to further reduce litter and increase recycling opportunities for pedestrians. Solid Waste Services is partnering with Center City Partners on this expanded effort and will be providing collection services for the new waste stations.
The dual-waste stations offer garbage disposal using compacting units and also recycling disposal for recyclables accepted in the Recycle It! Everywhere program. The single "smart" containers will only be for recycling.
