PARK AND RECREATION'S 3RD ANNUAL HATS OFF TO PARKS LUNCHEON TO SUPPORT NEWTOWN MEMORIAL PLAYGROUND BUILD

Park and Recreation will hold the 3rd Annual Hats Off to Parks Luncheon on Friday, May 10, 2013, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Freedom Park. Hats Off to Parks is a fundraiser with proceeds benefiting park projects throughout the County. This year’s event will benefit a playground, which will be built at Park Road Park, in memory of the students and teachers lost in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Conn. The luncheon will include Jazz in the Park, an extensive silent auction featuring more than 50 donated items from community partners, and cuisine courtesy of Armin's Catering featuring:

  • Shrimp and Grits
  • Bellini Salad
  • Chicken Salad
  • Pimento Cheese
  • Macaroni Salad
  • Desserts donated by bakeries throughout Mecklenburg County

2013 BARK IN THE PARK TOP DOG FESTIVAL SET FOR APRIL 27 AT HISTORIC RURAL HILL

The 2013 Bark in the Park Top Dog Festival Presented by Purina and Harris Teeter will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Historic Rural Hill in Huntersville. This year’s festival will feature several contests for dogs and humans. Participation is FREE. Register on-site to participate. Space is limited for each contest.
