Safety Alert! A house near the end of Buckingham Drive near Valley Stream was vandalized this afternoon. The damage was minor: the mailbox was bashed in and some yard items were kicked around. A neighbor reported there were a couple of young men walking the neighborhood selling magazines door to door and got slightly belligerent when turned away. There's no way if they were the ones who did this. Police were called and a report was filed. Never hesitate to call! The officers in our area have stressed to us again and again that they would much rather investigate and find out it was "nothing" than not be notified when it turns out to be "something." Let's work together to keep our neighborhood safe!
Selwyn Park Incident
This seems to be a new method of treatment with these door to door salesmen. We had the one last fall that was arrested and sent out of state. On the news a couple of days ago incidents on the other side of town by magazine salesmen getting nasty with people telling them no, and now one back near us.
Call police and don't open the door if you bothered by such people.
