I am writing to you all to ask for some assistance for some school children in our area. One of our beloved school resource officers, Officer Gene Lim, who works at SedgefieldElementary school called me today and has asked for some help. Evidently, there is a young man at his school that has begun to "act out". When Lim questioned the young student about his recent change in behavior, it turns out he was acting up because he was upset he was being made fun of for not having a uniform shirt like the rest of the kids. Turns out his family could not afford a shirt for the boy. So we are asking for folks to look through their closets and see if they have any gently used "polo" style shirts that we could provide to Officer Lim for kids like this young boy that he could keepat his office in the chance a kid needs a shirt.
He is asking for youth sizes as well as all the way up to adult XL, in white, and navy and light blue colors. If you can help or know of someone I can ask, please pass along their contact information. If you can donate anything for this, I can make arrangements to pick those items up from you as to save you some time.
Contact Officer Schwartz if you can help or have something to donate. kschwartz@cmpd.org
Officer Lim use to be one of our Community Officers so many of you might remember him.
