Marty,
I'm the pastor of Wedgewood Church in Charlotte. We have an Artistic Cafe the 3rd Saturday of each month in the Jim Rivers Hall. We have invested $8,000 in our Cafe and have a really nice venue for budding performers. We've had belly dancing, bands, magicians, vocalists, instrumentalists, poets, - pretty much everything.
Our Cafe was started by Joe Rob who was homeless for 9 months but is now on disability. We charge $5 for Adults and kids are free, allowing us to raise $1,500 for poor/in transition artists in just five shows.
Here's a Youtube video of a show. (Before house lights and spotlight were installed and before we changed time so we could serve burgers, veggie burgers and hot dogs.)

We mix in transition artists with other performers who donate their performance to the cause. We would love to have performers from CPCC.
I've attached a poster which we will be glad to laminate, print and deliver.
Also, the Farmer's Market is on. We will be an outpost for Atherton Mill Farmer's Market. Thanks for the idea. More info soon.
Thank you for your time.
