Please share this information to your residents.  Should anyone have any information to give to Police or have any questions, please email me or call me at 980.226.4336.  Thanks in advance ~

First, the Westover division has taken several reports over the last few weeks for residential burglaries of homes either vacant, for sale, and/or under construction.  The incidents reported were copper thefts from these residences.  Please be mindful of these reports when putting your home up for sale, when you are having any construction done, or if you live near residence that is vacant.  Call 911 and report any suspicious vehicles or persons near these homes.  Periodically check on residences that are vacant for copper thefts and or any signs of a break in.

Second, a woman advised that on 10/19, she was home alone and heard a knock on her back door.  When she heard a second knock and knew she was not expecting anyone, she went to investigate and found a black male at her back door.  His story was that he was in the area selling meat boxes and wanted to know if she wanted any of his extras.  This type of approach and selling "tactic" is not normal.  It is believed he was trying to find out if anyone was home before possibly breaking into the residence.  If the chance this has happened to anyone else, please contact me with details.  And remember, please call 911 immediately if anyone suspicious shows up at your door, and especially if it's your back door, porch, garage, etc.

And lastly, please be on the look out for a white SUV or possible van that is missing hubcaps.  It was last seen in the area of Lochridge Rd where a residential burglary took place on 10/16.  This is a possible suspect vehicle, and Police are looking for that vehicle at this time.

Please pass along any information you may have pertaining to any of these incidents or other things you have seen in and around your neighborhood.

Take care and stay safe!
