Requesting an Absentee By Mail Ballot  Beginning 9/21/12
 

You can request an Absentee By Mail Ballot and vote from home in the next election by writing a letter that provides the following information: 

  • Your name
  • Your Mecklenburg County address
  • The address where the Ballot is to be mailed (if it’s different)
  • The election for which you are requesting the ballot
  • Your signature
  • The type of Ballot: Democratic, Republican, Libertarian (for Primaries only, if registered UNAFFILLIATED only) 
  • Your Birth Date (not required but extremely helpful)
  • A phone number or email address (not required but extremely helpful)

The letter must be scanned and not simply requested in an email
as we must have your signature.

Don't forget starting 9/21/12 you can request an absentee ballot.  Vote from the comfort of your home.  Absentee ballots are always the first reported on election night.

Remember on election day you need to vote in your precinct where you live.  If you can't vote where you live on your election day..use early voting or absentee voting.
