Serafim George Pistolis "Mike" CHARLOTTE - Mr. Pistolis, 84, of Charlotte passed away peacefully on his birthday, Wednesday, August 8, 2012, in the Harris Hospice Unit of Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Serafim was born August 8, 1928, in Fidakia, Greece son of the late George and Maria Politis Pistolis. Mike came to the United States in 1970 and worked with his brother in the Americana Restaurant for 25 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral and enjoyed gardening, grilling and had the best mezethes. Mike was best known for his sense of humor and warm friendly spirit. But his greatest legacy was his great love for his family. He was a supportive husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents Serafim was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Pistolis and sister, Helen Doudoumis. Survivors include his wife, Christina; daughters, Maria Kondilis and husband, John and Georgia Sialmas and husband, Pete; son, George Pistolis; brother, Bill Pistolis and wife, Vicki; sister, Ntina Kalantzi; sister-in-law, Francis Pistolis; brother-in-law, John Doudoumis; grandchildren, Chris,Kondilis and wife, Nikoletta and Stavroula and Serafim Kondilis and Kristina and Serafim Sialmas and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 11, 2012, one hour prior to the Trisagion and funeral service at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral Building Fund or Panagia Prousiotisa Fund, 600 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.
