Public awareness of crime and crime patterns is vital to assist in developing lines of communication between citizens and the police, as well forming working relationships between citizens and police. Summer is Here,
The last week or so you really can tell that summer is here. With summer comes the time for a lot of us to go on vacation. Please help yourself while you are away by following several safety tips to ensure you do not become a victim of crime when you are away.
Have a neighbor or friend or family member check on your residence.
Have them pick up the mail and newspaper or stop delivery while you are out of town.
Leaving a light on or use timers to have them come on and off to appear that someone is home.
Be prepared to provide valuable information if you do become a victim of crime. Serial numbers and photos are a great evidence to help officers and detectives solve the crime and return your property to you.
I hope you all have a great summer and we are her to ensure you that you continue to have a safe community to live and work.
