9:00-10:00: Fitness in the Park! Family Fun Run (2 miles) and exercises. Dick Winters will be teaching kids (and their parents) the best way to learn to ride a bike, so bring the bikes! We will also be collecting used bikes to donate to Trips for Kids (www.tripsforkidscharlotte.org).
10:00-10:30: Dedication & Garden Tours (honoring volunteer Erwin Smith and student Cristian Arellano). Come see what's growing in our 28 garden beds and see our new rain barrel irrigation system at work!
10:30-11:30: Cooking Demonstration by a chef from Harvest Moon Grille. Learn some great techniques for healthy food preparation as well as inspiring ideas for cooking delicious summer veggies!
11:30-12:00: Cooking Contest. Note: healthy recipes advocating fruit and vegetable consumption only! Our judges will include the chef from Harvest Moon Grille, our own principal Sexton, and Charlie Diman :).
