Two recent Incidents on Chedworth

Posted in: Madison Park

This week I had a resident call to tell me that someone rang their doorbelll at 4:00 am over the weekend.   They called CMPD but they did not find anyone around.

Last night most residents at home South of Tyvola will know we had a helicopter flying over our homes.  I was contacted by a couple of Chedworth residents to alert me of an incident that happened last night.    A male resident returned home from work/dinner last night.   He backs into his driveway and was jumped by two black males that took his wallet.   Apparently his new neighbors heard him scream and called 911.  The suspects were seen running down Camborne.  This was just after 9:00 PM.

Not sure if these are even connected, but do be aware of these incidents and your surroundings.  Even in your own home and driveway you need to be alert.   Sort of odd to have two different things happen within blocks of each other the same week.

Being attacked in your own driveway has happened in the past.   My immediate neighbors that rented a house next door to me a few years ago were robbed at gun point when they returned home from work before they could even get out of their car.   Their driveway does not even go behind their home.   They pulled in and were finishing listen to a song on the radio.  They did not realize another car had pulled up and stopped on the street.  Two men jumped out with guns and took their money.

We also had an incident in the past where a purse was snatched as a female resident was going to her auto in the am in our area.

We are certainly not a high crime area...but just posting these last two to let folks know these things can happen when you feel most safe on your own property.

A good thing the remember if you ever are coming home and feel like someone might be following you don't go into your driveway.  Keep driving to a safe area with lights and lots of people and call 911.

One of our Madsion Park directors told me just now that one his neighbors on Wedgewood Drive South of Tyvola also had someone ring their doorbell at 3 AM within the last week.   This is two cases of this happening.  She also called police ..they responded but found no one in the area.

So be aware of this activity.   If you have a neighbor that is nearby that does not mind being woke up call them to let them know.  Maybe they can look safely out their window and see someone leaving the area.

Montclaire's President Nancy Mosier Dehart just called and said that they also had a home broken into Easter Weekend on Tamworth Drive.   I don't know any other details except she stated the back door knob was off the door and they had a privacy fence.
