Good afternoon to all!
The gardens here at the Marion Diehl Center are loving the rain today…everything is growing strong!
Thank you to everyone who has already helped to make the Garden 2 You market a success…I especially thank all who visited us on September 9 and helped us raise $130 toward the Therapeutic Recreation Summer Camp Scholarship Fund! Special thanks also to everyone who has donated pots and containers. We now especially need plant trays/flats, as our Gifted Gardeners are producing hundreds of new plants each week.
We are now working toward our next market date, coming up on Friday, October 14. We should have much more produce available for this date, as our fall greens are growing well, along with plentiful tomatoes and other vegetables. We will appreciate the involvement of other gardeners in the community, as volunteers and/or as vendors during the market. Thank you all for your continued support of this exciting effort in your community!
An additional note: Kristin Davis with NC Cooperative Extension will be continuing to offer demonstrations during the Garden 2 You market events – we look forward to learning about delicious soups using local vegetables at the October 14 market. Many thanks to you, Kristin!
