Good afternoon –
Even though the weather is still hot, the fall season is upon us! The first fall date for the Garden 2 You farmers’ market will be Friday, September 9, 1-5pm at the Marion Diehl Recreation Center!
I am contacting you all because you have either: attended the first date of Garden 2 You in May; signed our list at Madison Park’s “National Night Out” event; or participated in the Gifted Gardeners class for adults with disabilities. I greatly appreciate your support for this effort, helping to provide healthy food for our community, and raising funds for our Therapeutic Recreation Summer Camp Scholarship Fund!
I am attaching the flyer for the upcoming dates in September, October and November; as well as the registration form needed for anyone wishing to rent a booth space. Please pass along to anyone who may be interested in attending, donating or selling produce or plants, or volunteering to help. You can also support the market and gardening classes by saving the following recyclable items, which can be dropped off at the Marion Diehl Center:
- Used plant containers and trays (we especially need trays!)
- Steel cans, lid completely removed (no pull-tops, please, as these leave sharp edges) – 1-lb size or larger
- Plastic containers, rinsed out, no lids – example: yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream, coffee, etc. – any size
- Gallon milk jugs, rinsed out, please!
- Cat litter buckets with lids
- 5-gallon buckets (clean)
