This is Jarretts last post on the subject from around June 15th, 2011....

 

 

Madison Park- as several of you know, there is a lot of interest and movement with our school assignments. The primary goals include 1) promoting Pinewood Elementary as a neighborhood school, and 2) rezoning our high school assignment to be either Myers Park or South Meck.
 
As a first step, can you take 2 minutes to fill out the survey below? This will help put some statistics around our neighborhood and it also provides an opportunity to meet collecively with Pinewood representatives for questions/discussion.

Hey- thanks for the posts! You are absolutely right in that the schools should be (and are) a primary focus. We (the Madison Park community) have been working on two initiatives. 1) Making Pinewood Elementary a neighborhood school. 2) Rezoning our middle and high schools. There has been a lot of focus on Pinewood recently and the results have been very promising. The rezoning issue is big and will be a focus in November when the new school board members are being elected.
