THANKS To So Many

Posted in: Madison Park

Thanks to everyone that came out for National Night Out this evening.  I hope you had a Great time.

Many Thanks to those on the Madison Park Board and all our neighbors that showed up to help with set up, distributing food, and cleaning up the event.

Also Thanks to all our fantastic sponsors that gave hundreds to support our event again this year.

Thanks to all our Wonderful Entertainers.

We also appreciate all the neighbors of Fairbanks that gave water connections and electrical for the entertainment area to inflate and cool our guest on the water attractions. We also appreciate every year you Welcome the event and literally hundreds of your neighbors that show up in front of your homes and in some of your yards.

Lastly but not least Thanks to all our CMPD officers that support our event and show up and meet and greet our neighbors.

Many hours go into planning this event every year.  It literally is an entire year of work.  Hundreds of e-mails, face to face meetings, and phone calls are made each years for this 3 hours of fun.

Your Madison Park President

Martin Doss

CHARLOTTE – Martin Doss was already planning the National Night Out festivities for 2012, even though his neighbors were just arriving at this year's event.

Doss is the President of the Madison Park Homeowners Association in South Charlotte and every year the organization puts on one of the largest Night Out events in the Queen City.

More Information:

Water slides, bounce houses, a train ride for kids, clowns, musical acts, and sponsor booths are all set up along the street.

It was a good turnout, despite the concern that some residents had about a rash of recent burglaries in the area.

"I mentioned that to Sgt. Hulsey and she was gracious enough to do overtime and they've got lots of police in this neighborhood tonight," he said. "So hopefully everybody will come home and not find any troubles."

Sgt. Jacquelyn Hulsey has been the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police resource officer for Madison Park. She says communication between police and residents is a big part of crime prevention.

"We attend their homeowner association meetings," she said. "I have a real good correspondence system set up with the entire neighborhood through e-mail. They receive my newsletters."
