Dear Neighbors:
Yesterday afternoon we found out that the Madison Park Home Owners Association was awarded a $25,000 Neighborhood Matching Grant from the City of Charlotte! Hooray! This grant will allow our community to establish Madison Central Park at the site of the old Pinewood Elementary School on Seneca Place.
The grant includes adding the following new features in Phase 1:
--a comprehensive multi-phased master landscape design plan created by local landscape architects
--a walking path around the 5 acre site
--a 9-hole disc golf course
--an improved playground area including infant swings, picnic table, benches
--additional raised beds for Pinewood Elementary School's vegetable gardens
--enhanced landscaping including new plantings and new mulched areas
--a turf management plan and implementation for the large grass fields
--documentation of the project by a Madison Park professional photographer
--a park sign installed on Seneca Place designed to complement the existing Madison Park neighborhood signs
--and much more!
WE WANT YOU TO GET INVOLVED! SAVE THE DATES for 2 upcoming workdays: Saturday, August 6 9am-1pm & Saturday November 5 9am-1pm.
After we sign the contract with the city next week every hour you volunteer towards this project contributes $20.85 to the neighborhood matching grant requirements!
If you would like to take a leadership role and really roll-up your sleeves please email us! The success of this project depends upon neighborhood involvement!
Stay tuned for more information.
