Make sure to check Animal Control in Person:

Even if you are checking animal control each day looking for your missing pet remember you must ask to have someone check the injured area.  This is a NON PUBLIC area.  A few months ago a pet escaped from Tyvola.  The owner checked daily.   Unfortunately he was unaware his dog was laying injured from being hit by a car in a non public area.  He didn't know to request animal control officers to check.  His dog was put down after 3 days even though he checked every single day. 

 

So just as a TIP make sure to check that area if you are missing your pet.

 

Also putting up signs....(although I am a Pet lover)...... it is illegal to put them in any right a way in Charlotte including on signs).   It carries the same fines as any other illegally placed sign.    If you put them up codes will probably give you a call to tell you to take them down.  You could be fined hundreds of dollars even thousands depending on the number up.   If you decide to put them up please make sure you take them down if you find your dog.   Often this is not happening.

LOST DOG!!! Benji escaped from a very well fenced back yard last night (4/29/11) in Montclaire neighborhood off S. Blvd/Tyvola. He's about 65 lbs, tan/brown shepherd/lab/hound mix. Timid, but may come to you if you are patient & gentle. May be cowering in a dark corner of someone's yard! Wearing a red collar w/ white paw prints.
