Please find the attached Charlotte-Mecklenburg Agenda for August 10, 2010. Consent Items III. F. Recommend approval of construction contract for demolition of the old Pinewood Elementary School. Auxiliary Services budgeted for the demolition of Pinewood in the proposed 2010-2011 budget. Upon BOE approval on August 10, the demolition process will occur expeditiously. Thank you and the Madison Park HOA for your patience.

We need your help! Please call or email CMS Board of Education before Tuesday. It will only take 5 minutes and your contribution will allow our community's voice to be heard.
Let's send the Board a loud & clear message from our neighborhood: The old Pinewood School is a dangerous eye sore that must be torn down without further delay! CMS needs to follow through with their promise to demolish the building and move the large dirt pile that has languished on school grounds for several years. The school building continues to be vandalized and it is a liability to CMS and our neighborhood. Cleaning up this space will highlight the new school and be a benefit to our community.
