This is to let everyone know that our Matching Grant for 40 Madison Park Neighborhood Entrance Sign toppers, and 9 Free standing decorative post signs was approved. I signed the contract for the matching grant last night. Cheryl Furr our Treasurer also attended the contract signing.
This morning I signed a contract with Signs Etc. They were selected to do the work. They provided us with $1410.45 in discount and gave us the best price. This company also has done previous work with the City of Charlotte Department of Transportation. The discount they provided counted toward our match requirement.
The process of executing the project is now underway. Expect to see our new signs going up around Mid June, 2010.
Those of you that pledged cash to sponsor a sign in whole or part please get those checks in to us. We appreciate the residents that sponsored signs. I believe I have made e-mail contact with all of you. You can drop the checks off at my home located at 5223 Londonderry Road, Charlotte, NC 28210, Mail them to my address, or call 7045190677 to request pick-up. Make Check payable to Madison Park HOA. Write on the check for Sign Sponsorship please.
Those of you that pledged Volunteer hours for cleaning of our signs Thank You. We will have the cleaning supplies early next week for your use. You can pick them up from my house starting Tuesday of next week when you are ready to do your cleaning. Shoot me an e-mail and I will have them ready for you. Please do not pick them up until you are ready to use them, and bring them back after cleaning. We plan to have enough supplies for two teams of two people to operate at a time. Each team of two was allotted a couple of hours to clean the agreed signs and locations. Those of you doing the cleaning remember it is very important that you sign the project time sheets so that we can be paid by the grant toward our project. All info requested on the time sheet must be completed in order for the volunteer hours to count as match. We will be working a minimum total of 102 hours of volunteer match toward the entire project. 32 of the 102 hours goes toward cleaning signs and picking up trash with grab sticks in the vicinity of the signs. Your volunteer match will earn us $1326.00 toward our project and contract requirements. We will reuse the grab sticks purchased by the grant on our Adopt A Streets both Seneca Place and Tyvola on future clean up projects.
We also have a little something extra that we successfully tied in to our grant that was approved by the grant review board. I will share what it is with everyone in the near future.
