Thanks for your feedback. Our web site says you joined the web site in July 09 so you are a member/user of our site at least and a resident of Madison Park.
Anyone living in our borders paid or not are considered residents of Madison Park.
We use the system a couple of times a year to alert as much of our community border wide as possible of our events. Some communities use it more frequently even monthly. WE Don't!
It has been offered to communities as service since it was initiated by CMPD several years ago. Our messages even helped get the bugs/kinks out of the computer program system in the past.
I do see what you mentioned on my caller ID. I know in the past it has said GEO notification system on my ID. Not sure why the difference this time.
The service is helpful because it helps alert all 2350 homes to the events. Some of our events such as National Night Out coming up on 8/3/10 bring out hundreds of residents. Many attendees are probably not paid members. We welcome everyone both paid members of Madison Park and not paid residents including rentors at our events. The community events are a good way for residents to come out for a fun evening and meet meet each other perhaps for the first time. Parents with childen sometimes find playmates for their children. The more people that know each other the better off the entire community is because we can help watch out for each other.
The web site is a good place to check for updates and information as we have thousands of visitors a month and we don't require you to be a paid member to use it. Just set up a user name.
