Read below regarding the huge dirt pile. This info will appear in the March 8th meeting minutes: Hope that at least makes you feel a little better.
You are part of the neighborhood:
Do you attend meetings? If so good for you! Do you volunteer to work on any projects? Since I don't know who wrote this I have to ask. Do you pick up trash on our adopt a streets?
I see this is the first time you have ever posted on our web site. Glad you decided to join in!
We spend countless hours working on many issues for our community be it crime or more. You might not see or hear everything we do, but every day things are being done by the HOA that improves the quality of life for all our residents.
Sorry if you don't see what we do. Pinewood had an award winning principal just a couple of years ago. Smith Language Academy is a very desired school and people move to the area just to have their children attend Smith Language Academy. I hear they are pleased with that neighborhood school. Pretty sure Waddell has been the High School for years. If you would like to start up a committee to try and change that you can use the HOA meeting to state your desires at one of the monthly HOA meetings during Open Discussion. This is the first complaint I have seen or heard about Waddell High School from any of our residents.
Not sure when you moved to the neighborhood but in 2008 we were the Neighborhood of the Year City Wide! You do not get this award for doing nothing!
Background on dirt pile.
CMS has always planned to use the dirt on the site. The old building did not come down because a need developed to use it as swing space. CMS did not have funds to move the pile and then have to bring the dirt back once they tore the building down.
Update info on Old Pinewood Elementary
President Doss contacted CMS’s Chief Operating Officer to inquire just what the plans are for Old Pinewood Elementary on Seneca Place
On Feb. 11th he received the following:
Dear Martin Doss,
This is receipt of your e-mail. I will have Guy Chamberlain, Associate Superintendent of Auxiliary Services, contact you to address your concern and provide a timeline.

On Feb. 12th he received:
Mr. Doss,
We will award a demolition contract in the spring and commence demolition after school closes for the summer. The "dirt pile" will be incorporated into the site after the demolition is complete.
Please feel free to call me if you have any further questions at 980-343-6175.

It will be a level playfield.
