Caravan to Raleigh

Posted in: Madison Park
On behalf of Mayor Pat McCrory, I would like to thank you for your interest in the Caravan to Raleigh for Public Safety.? The Mayor announced the details of the Caravan to Raleigh at Noon today and we wanted to get the information to you to share with neighbors, coworkers, and friends.

The Caravan to Raleigh will be Tuesday, February 13, 2007.? Due to the overwhelming initial interest in addressing crime in Charlotte, we have secured buses for the Caravan.? We will meet at the Cricket Arena parking lot off of Independence Boulevard at 6:30 a.m. and then have a full day of meetings in Raleigh.? We will return to Cricket Arena by 6:30 p.m.

Meeting requests have been extended to Governor Easley, Speaker of the House Hackney, Senate President Pro Tem Basnight, and Supreme Court Chief Justice Parker, plus all 15 members of the Mecklenburg Delegation of state lawmakers.

We are asking everyone to register for the Caravan to determine an exact number of attendees for bus and food purposes.? Registration information is attached -- and it is also available on the Mayor's page on the City's website, www.charmeck.org.? You will note we are asking for a nominal fee to cover some of the costs.

I will be in touch with more information as to the meetings in Raleigh and the specific issues we want to address as part of the Caravan to Raleigh.? Our effort now is to get the word out and get people registered.? Thank you for your interest in the Caravan to Raleigh for Public Safety and I look forward to seeing you on February 13, 2007 at 6:30 a.m.
Andy Dulin will be going

Andy Dulin will be on the Caravan and would like at least 3 or 4 people from Madison Park to travel on the bus with them.
