Brakes on Murrayhill Sidewalk

Posted in: Madison Park
Its a WIN or LOSS depending on which side of the fence you were on in regards to the Murrayhill Sidewalk. The planned sidewalk from Woodlawn that would have continued by a spur to the back entrance of Pinewood Elementary on Wedgewood Drive as well as continue the entire route of Murrayhill connecting to Seneca Place by a final spur on Wedgewood Drive has been PUT ON HOLD! The city will be taking a look not just for this project but the entire procedures for getting feedback from communities before building this and other sidewalks which have stirred heated debates. Watch for further updates on our website. The only section that will be built for sure is the small 1-2 blocks at the Woodlawn entrance of Murrayhill. This will be part of the light rail infrastructure! The city reported back to some of our residents RECENTLY that the August Sidewalk Meeting was slightly For the project but the Petition Drive had numerous names signed against the project. One of the main issues was with the number of trees that might need to be removed along the route!
