CDOT Says NO to Baker Stop Signs

Posted in: Madison Park
CDOT reported today 4/18/2004 in order to add stops on Baker at Cooper turning this into a 4 way stop Baker would have to carry 1000 plus cars a day. Unfortunately it only registered 820 on the day of the count. So there will be no traffic calming measures allowed on Baker!
Will count traffic volume again

Chip Gallup who is over Madison Park in regards to CDOT issues reported today 5/12/05 that he does sympathize with our request for a 4 way stop to try and calm traffic on Baker. For this reason he said he would see that it is counted again in a few months to see if the volume is high enough to install two more signs on BAKER!
CDOT says NO to switching stops

CDOT said NO to our members suggestion to just move the 2 way stop around to BAKER. The reason is 99.9% of the time the street with the lowest volume is the one that gets the stop. The higher volume is allowed to flow. It would also be dangerous to switch the signs without instead of adding a 4 way STOP because frequent travelers might not notice the change and have an accident!
