DID YOU KNOW???!!?

SAFE WALKING, RUNNING AND RIDING

Walking is great for your health, but to avoid the risk of injury from traffic, you should always walk on the left, facing oncoming traffic. At dusk and night time you should always wear light colored clothing, and a reflective vest, or carry a light. RUNNERS are required by law to wear a reflective vest and/or a light at night. Bicyclists are required to follow the same traffic laws as automobiles, and must have a light at night.

CURB SIDE TIPS

Remember, don't put your gray garbage can in the street, and don't put anything else next to it within 3 feet, to allow for the city truck to be able to 'grab' the can with its mechanical arm. Also, all cardboad must be flat, so cardboard boxes must be torn down.

IT IS A VIOLATION of City Ordnance to put anything on the curb earlier than 12 noon of the day prior to scheduled pick up. Any non-yard waste trash items not in the gray roll-out can must have pick up arranged by appointment with the City BEFORE being put on the curb. Trash cans must be removed by midnight on your pick-up day or residents face a $50.00 fine! Any person who fails to properly prepare or containerize recyclables for curbside collection may be issued a civil penalty in the amount of $50.00.

DOG WALKING

Did you know that it is a violation of City Ordnance to allow your dog to go to the bathroom on private property without permission of the property owner? Please show consideration and always keep your dog at the curb, and scoop the poop!
