Lemons to Lemonade! At it AGAIN!

I have to compliment the "TOT-LOT" jingle:

Problem:  “WETLANDS”: the unkempt “keep out” zone “conveniently” located.

Solution:  Create a wetland park.  Naturally wildlife is attracted to this area, why not clean it up and make it pleasant and useful?  I don’t know exactly what my fellow neighbors would like, but I probably something the community can be proud of and anything better than the mosquito haven we have now!

I’m thinking:  A walking path, park benches, a deck, perhaps a flower garden,  we can attract wildlife like ducks to feed and birds to see!  This would all be “conveniently” located near the front of the community, next to the TOT LOT, and surely provide a better impression than it currently does.  Neighbors of ALL ages can enjoy taking walks and viewing wildlife, and pretty foliage!  If there’s room… some picnic tables?

Just a thought from the girl that can’t have any “vote” ;]  (BUT I've got Matt’s vote!Surprised)

I agree that the area is an eye sore, harbors mosquito larvae, and all sorts of other things that could be dangerous to the children in the neighborhood, but because it is designated as a "Wetland Conservation Area"...

If you check out Article III, Section 5 (Bottom of Page 4 & Top of Page 5) of the Covenants, it doesn't sound like we have much of an option.

My suggestion would be to contact the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and see what, if anything, could be done with that area.

Innocent

I read over the section previously, and since our last neighborhood "clean-up" I've mowed the corner and even trimmed back the trees and vines (only on the main corner by the street sign) While I did that, I have hung a "bird block" (block of bird feed) and bought some seeds for sun flowers and other flowers to bring color to the area, I plan to plant them along the edge of the "eyes-ore" I can't do very much but I'm convinced this is better than nothing.  Also I have notices rabbits, turtles and plenty of birds, so I have brought over my "old" fruits and veggies and set them on the corner for the wildlife to get a hold of.  I see a lot of action from my house and enjoy it... However I do wish there was more we could do... Let's get together Kerrie!
