Gardens of the Month

January

JanGOM.jpg

Congratulations! The January Garden of the Month is 421 Broadway.  If you have been driving by this home for the past two years you have seen the owners painstakingly and lovingly restoring the home and gardens back to their original glory.  They have preserved the charm and beauty of this historic home for their own family as well as the rest of us to enjoy.  They truly exhibit the spirit of Lake Eola Heights and we applaud them!

 February

Congratulations! The February Garden of the Month is 719 E. Ridgewood St.  Winter can often be a tempormental gardening month but this home manages to provide a well managed look for all to enjoy.

March

MarGom2.jpg

Congratulations 410 E Livingston St is March's Garden of the Month.  This three unit investment property has recently been completely re-landscaped with a very minimal maintenance garden, front and back.  The entire driveway has new pavers which makes a beautiful courtyard in front of the garage apartment.  In this time of a contracting economy it is heartening to see this owner put such a large investment in the beautification of his property which also adds to the beauty of our neighborhood.      (correction, the address was 1st posted as 420 rather than 410).

April

APRGOM.JPG

Congratulations, 812 E. Livingston St. has been chosen as April's Garden of the Month. This home has been lovingly restored over the past few years.  Everything about it presents a welcoming feeling and creates an inviting environment to be enjoyed.  From the decorative fixtures to the colorful potted plants---everything gives the appearance of tranquility and harmony.

May

 MAYGOM.JPG

Congratulations, 128 Hibiscus Ct. has been chosen as May's Garden of the Month. While driving or walking through the neighborhood it is easy to miss this short, tucked away street.........please visit Hibiscus Court and see the charming landscape at #128.  The previous owner, Michael Essi, is responsible for planting the landscaping and the current owner is continuing to care for the mature landscaping.  The layering of the plants gently leads you to the front door of this charming home.  It reinforces again that size does not matter when it comes to landscaping!!  Thank you to the previous and current owner for your contribution to the beauty of Lake Eola Heights!

June

Congratulations, 209 E. Concord St. has been chosen as June's Garden of the Month. This garden was selected for its understated simplicity.  It represents the clean, green motif with some texture mixed in for visual enjoyment.

July

JULGOM.JPG

Congratulations! 647 E. Livingston St. has been chosen as July’s Garden of the Month.  This beautiful home is not only a charm but the well landscaped yard is a joy to view too!  The well thought out and tended plant beds as well as choice of plantings complement the site perfectly.  The majestic oak and historic-style street light in the parkway are two additional accents that create the perfect setting for all to enjoy.

August

AugGOM.JPG

Congratulations! 309 Concord Street has been selected as August's Garden of the Month. While the intense summer heat can be damaging to most gardens, this one gives the appearance of simple, clean and green!   It offers a sense of tranquility against the hot heat of the summer background.

September

SepGOM.JPG

Congratulations! 5 Broadway Court has been selected as September Garden of the Month! The recognition could also go to the entire charming street.  But we are going to draw you  all the way to the end to see the last home on the right with its, cozy and beautiful front garden. What a wonderful example of how small spaces can have big impact. From architecture to landscape this home is sure to please. Be sure you linger a few minutes and listen as you just may hear a harp being played!

October

OCTGOM.JPG

Congratultions! The October Garden of the Month  is 300 Harwood St.

The front yard is welcoming and very well manicured with all its greenery. The 2 Birds of Paradise give a perfect accent of color that demonstrates the "less is more" concept. Also, the full bouganvillea tumbling from the side of the house is both whimsical and beautiful in appearance. Job well done!

November

GOMNov.JPG

Congratulations! November’s Garden of the Month is 346 Hillman St.
This beautiful, shaded corner garden gently invites you to slow down and take a second look.  The recent landscaping beautifully accents the white two-story home.
