Garage Sale Is May 22nd

Apr 28, 2004

MAY 22
IHRA GARAGE SALE DAY

Question- What is the difference between Garage Sale Day and Garbage Pickup Day? Answer- How close the things are to the curb.
But luckily, one man?’s trash is another man?’s treasure. Tidy up your house and earn a tidy sum on a day that will bring a lot of customers to Indian Hills. The sale will last from 9-3, and will be advertised in local newspapers.
TOM ECKHART IS THINKING

Your neighbor on Greenridge Rd is using his noggin. Mr.Eckhart contacted the IHRA when he heard that a large pallet of peat moss was available for the taking at the end of the Home and Garden Show downtown. Tom suggested that perhaps some use could be found in the neighborhood. After a few calls, a local landscaper agreed to take his stake truck down to pick up the load.
Dave Dannaher Landscaping (who has done many attractive jobs in IH) agreed to donate $75 to the IHRA for the value of the palletload. Thanks to Tom and to Dave.
IH POOL = NEIGHBORHOOD ASSET

Admit it, its cool to tell people that you live in a neighborhood with its own Swim Club. Even better than talking about it is the fun experience. Long a haven for the little girls and guys of Indian Hills, it is also a great place to meet the larger Indians of the Hill. If you have not visited the pool lately, please join us for opening day on the Memorial Day weekend (May 29,30,31). Besides the daily splashing for kids wanting to cool off, Fridays include cookouts, raft nights and floating movies. Volleyball nets await your serve. A good quality hoop awaits your 3-point attempt.
Leisure is also great at the IH pool. Bring your favorite beach book for a relaxing read, or just lay back in the comfortable lawn chairs and take 40 winks in the sun.

The 2004 application is included with this newsletter. Your support is what keeps the pool alive and thriving for this and future generations of Indian Hills?’ families.

DON?’T FORGET TENNIS

The Tennis Club membership application is also included in this newsletter. John Hoffman has just cleaned and readied the courts for another fun season. These lighted courts are the perfect place for exercise after the sun stops blazing on a summer evening.

CURB NUMBERS

The curb number project is scheduled to begin at the end of May. Thank you those who have turned in election forms. The forms arrived with the January newsletter and were also delivered to each home NOT yet electing in mid-April. HOMEOWNERS WHO DO NOT TURN IN A SIGNED ELECTION FORM WILL NOT HAVE A CURB NUMBER PAINTED.

EASTER EGG HUNT

The traditional Easter Egg Hunt was another packed event. The April 10 hunt was blessed with good weather and excited kids hunting through the newly trimmed commons area of the neighborhood.

The George Rittle family makes this tradition happen each year. They merit our heartfelt thanks.

ACCOUNTING REVIEW

On February 24, 2004, accountant Marianne Shyster reviewed the income statements, balance sheet, bank statements and associated accounts of the Indian Hills Resident?’s Association, Swim Club and Tennis Club for the period October 2002 through September 2003. Ms. Shuster opined that the financial statements fairly represent the financial positions of the Swim , Tennis and Administration accounts as of September 2003. The accounts are in conformity with generally accepted accounting practices.
