ANNUAL HALLOWEEN PARTY IS 10/28
If you are not a scaredy cat, you?’ll join other Halloweeners at the Tennis Courts for a bonfire, games and hot dogs. The kids love this event because it happens after dark (7PM). Bring your marshmallows and a stick and join the fun. Kids are encouraged to wear costumes.

IF YOU SEE THESE PEOPLE, THANK THEM
Betsy Smalldon has served for 3 years as Entrance Chairperson for our neighbor-hood. This year has included a few trials and tribulations for Betsy, but she has battled through them. The entrances are a large job, and a large part of the outside impression of our neighborhood.
Thank you, Betsy, for your efforts on behalf of Indian Hills.

Also, thanks go out to Sue Romig for serving on the board for the past two years as Assistant Secretary. Her talents are as copious as her notes.

THE FEEDBACK HAS BEEN WONDERFUL FOR OUR ?“HISTORY?” SERIES

We continue to receive nice calls and letters about the beginning of the neighborhood. The latest arrived from Ralph O?’Dette.

?“I?’ve enjoyed the ?“Who got here first??” contest and finally decided to try to find out when we did. With me, it?’s a personality defect, not a brain disease that enables me to classify events in three time categories: yesterday, maybe the day before, and long ago. According to our deed, we bought on December 2, 1963. The deed was filed on December 7. According to my wife, Clara, we moved in on December 6. I recall that somewhere in that time frame we had a brutal cold snap that had Clara threatening to move back to Washington.
My leaky memory retains as ?“fact?” that our house was one of the first 50 built. Many were on Greenridge, but I don?’t remember where the others were. I also recall that the biggest plane using Don Scott was the Governor?’s DC-3, and the noisiest was an A-26. The most fun plane was a replica of the Red Baron?’s WWI Fokker triplane owned by one of the Fergus boys who founded Midwest VW. The plane was so slow it seemed to hover. But it was quiet.
Cheers!?”
