Beatties Ford Road 4-Lane Widening

Beatties Ford Road 4-Lane Widening Construction is completed! The Beatties Ford Road 4-Lane Widening project's construction contract was awarded on August 27, 2001. The contractor, Ferebee Corporation, has started on the drainage at Pitts Drive and Booker Avenue in the Washington Heights Neighborhood. The drainage improvements along Tate Street and Booker Avenue will be the contractor's focus for the next three to four months. Following the storm sewer improvements, the Booker Avenue realignment will begin. A two-month road closure of Booker Avenue between Beatties Ford Road and Campus Stret will expedite the process.

A special concern during the construction phase is the illegal dumping of unwanted furniture, applicances, and other assorted items. While channel cleanout of the existing ditch was part of the contractor's work, they are finished removing debris from the job site. Please note that the City provides a service, free of charge, for removal of items. Call 704-336-2673 to schedule a pickup of unwanted items.
