WOW, what a change Grant Park is going through right now. With all the new construction of homes being done to the whole Habitat Community going in on the east side.

This is encouraging, to know that your area has been targeted as a location that people will want to move into and live. This is a great opportunity to meet these people as they come to the area to look at or are buying these new homes.

As current Grant Park residents you need to get out and again meet these folks. Welcome them to the neighborhood, invite them to participate in the Grant Park Civic Association. Encourage them to take pride in Grant Park, their community, to help promote a wonderful place to live.

DRUG STING OPERATION

As most of you are aware if you watch or read the news, the Tampa Police Department and the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department has gotten together as a TASK Force and have been working on street level drugs in and around Grant Park.

On September 29, 2000, and a few day since then the two groups have made numerous arrest of these street level drug dealers. If you have noticed the problem in Grant Park has been derailed for now. What we need to do now is for the citizens of Grant Park to keep a watch out for street level drug dealers.

If you see people hanging out on the corners and you believe they are dealing in drugs make the call, give the Tampa Police Department's QUAD Squad a call at 276-3689 or if on the County's side give the Sheriff's Department a call 247-8000.

Remember, Grant Park is your community. Take pride in it and keep it cleaned up. Not only from street level drug dealers but also help keep the area clean and nice by keeping your property up. Get out and pick up the roadsides along your property to help keep the area looking good.

If each resident does just a little extra your community will be one of the best in the county / city.
