Glynlea Park Neighborhood Association

Jax Pride Week Cleanup March 2004

Glynlea Park Neighborhood Pride

On March 6th Glynlea Park Neighborhood Association we had twenty
volunteers who worked from 8 AM until noon. Two of members also worked a
couple of hours on Sunday watering and mulching new plants. We raked,
cleaned, trimmed, planted and mulched on 3 City right away parks within
Glynlea Park that are not maintained by the City. We put out a cubic
yard of Cypress Mulch, planted 3 Nandinas, 10 Jasmine, 4 Dahlias, 12
Mexican Petunias, 12 salvias, and some border grass. We added free City compost and purchased potting soil to all the new plants. We constructed a "watering tank" from a drum, water hose, and miscellaneous parts to water our new plants. We collected over 100 bags of yards waste, trash, litter, etc. Some of our supplies were from Jax Pride,
Clean It Up/ Green It up, or the City and some supplies were purchased
or donated by our association.

Three of our volunteers were students and we are giving them a Community
Service Credits certificate from Glynlea Park Neighborhood Association.
